How Studii works: a simple guide to protecting your modules

University is full of opportunities, challenges, and growth. But sometimes even hardworking students encounter academic setbacks along the way.
Studii was created to help students navigate those moments without facing the full financial burden of repeating a module.
In this article, we explain exactly how Studii works and what students can expect when they choose to protect their modules.
Choose how many modules to cover
Every university course consists of several modules or subjects.
With Studii, students can choose how many of those modules they want to protect. A module simply refers to a single academic subject that forms part of your degree programme.
Students choose how many failed modules to cover in the year, from one up to four, depending on their needs. Cover applies to any of their modules that meet the conditions.
This flexibility allows students to tailor their protection to their specific academic journey.
Subscribe to Studii
Once students have selected the number of modules they want to protect, they begin a monthly subscription.
This subscription covers the chosen number of modules for as long as the monthly payments continue. Cover paid upfront runs to the end of the year.
The subscription is the cost of maintaining protection for those modules throughout the year.
Students can also cancel their monthly cover at any time if they choose to do so. Months already paid are not refunded, and cover stops when payments stop.
Continue your studies
Once protected, students continue their academic year as normal.
Studii does not interfere with the student's studies, exams, or academic performance. The goal is simply to provide a safety net in case a module needs to be repeated.
Students are still responsible for attending classes, completing coursework, and working toward their final results.
What happens if you need to repeat a module
- If a student fails a protected module, they can open a claim from their Studii account.
- All you need is 45% for your semester mark. To qualify, the module's semester mark must be at least 45%, and the student must have written the final exam.
- This ensures that the student made a genuine academic effort during the course.
How the payout process works
The payout process is straightforward:
- Once the module's final result is out, and any supplementary exam or other chance to pass it has been used, the student lodges a claim from their Studii account. Claims open once the year's cover is paid in full.
- The student uploads proof of their semester and exam marks, their ID, and a photo of themselves holding it.
- The Studii payout team verifies the claim against the agreement terms.
- Once Studii has verified them, Studii pays out the full cost of the failed module.
- Payouts are made once your results are verified.
What Studii covers
Studii covers the actual cost of the module fee that the student needs to pay in order to repeat the subject.
- The protection applies specifically to the module tuition fee.
- Exclusions: Accommodation, study materials, field trips, and other non-tuition expenses.
Responsibilities of students
- Keep your payments up to date: a claim only qualifies if they are.
- Earn a semester mark of at least 45% in the module, and write the final exam.
- These requirements ensure Studii remains fair and sustainable for all users.
Supporting students through the journey
University success is rarely a perfectly straight line.
Most students face challenges at some point during their academic journey. What matters most is the ability to learn, adapt, and continue moving forward.
Studii exists to help students stay on that path.
By reducing the financial risk of repeating a module, Studii allows students to focus on learning, growth, and ultimately completing their degrees.
